These monthly figures are computed from HDB's rental approvals, not published by HDB. Rents are what owners declared when HDB approved the letting, unverified by HDB and indicative only. The median rent column covers that month's approvals alone; the 12-month columns pool the 12 months up to that month.

What these figures cover
The quarterly table is HDB's own published median monthly rent, in dollars, of rents declared in applications to rent out a flat, rounded to $10. The monthly table is computed from the individual approvals, so it can show an all-flat-types median that HDB does not publish. Rents are declared by owners and are indicative only. HDB's file has no 2019 Q4 figures.
